My wedding is still somewhat off in the distant future...  A place to live comes first.  But, a girl can dream.  Although I was never the type to plan my wedding before there was any chance of that actually happening, now that it's here, I guess I'm finding I'm still a woman and a princess at heart.  I admit it, I want the beautiful, stunning dress.  I want to feel really special, even if it's just for that one day.  Also, I'm the type that does better with things done at a manageable pace, and not in a high-pressure rush.  I want to reflect on what I want my wedding to be...  And that isn't going to happen overnight.  Plus, it just helps me to remember there is a future, and it's not so far away.  After all, most people plan their weddings over a year.  You're supposed to book a reception and get a dress a year in advance!  But we aren't the typical, starry eyed young couple dreaming about our glistening & bright future...  Not to say we expect it to be bad!  Just we're not naive about it.  I am maybe more so than he is, because he already has 18 years of marriage experience.  For me, this is my first marriage and first wedding...  So I want it to be special, and if we have to wait a little longer for that, then, I accept that.

Right now I am just going through wedding magazines, trying to come up with ideas of what I would like...  I was given some old ones from family friends and a couple new ones (through the generosity of my chiropractor and his magazine stash) so right now I'm just trying to get an idea of what I'd like.

From the beginning, I've always wanted the theme to be red, black and white.  The only thing that has caused me to waver on this is a beautiful rainbow butterfly cake, and the rainbow colours appealed to me, but I think that might be a little hard to put together as a theme.  Whereas, red, white and black can work in a number of different ways.
